The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is issuing an important reminder to Ontarians following a 50 per cent increase in powerline-related fatalities in the province. This Powerline Safety Week (May 13 to 19), the ESA is sharing crucial tips to stay safe around powerlines, both at home and at work.

The laws regarding electrical work exist to help keep the public safe from electrical harm. And the Ontario Electrical Safety Code exists to prevent risks of electrical injuries and to ensure electrical installations are done properly.
If anyone is aware of electrical work being done outside the law, we ask that they report it to ESA immediately - and you can do so confidentially. ESA looks into each and every one of these reports.
